I've been dazed and confused for so long it's not true!

May 6th
On this day in 1937 the German airship Hindenburg burst into flames over Lakehurst, New Jersey. It was the largest hydrogen airship ever built and was an iconic symbol of German engineering. The Nazi party was still in the good graces of the US government, therefore the wackos who said the explosion was a conspiracy can kiss my foot.
The final episode of Friends aired on this day in 2004.
Moving on, Roger Bannister became the first recorded person to run a mile in under four minutes in 1954. This milestone was thought by some to be unattainable, but after intense training Bannister broke the barrier by one second. Now runners have training regiments and fancy shoes that help them to attain this goal, but it is still something that not many can do.

  1. I like the video montage you've supplied of 'Friends' in this blog post. Hmmm, I didn't realize the show was in all black and white.
